SHORT-TERM EXCHANGE FELLOWSHIP IN PAEDIATRIC OPHTHALMOLOGY
- The European Paediatric Ophthalmological Society grants a fellowship in paediatric and
genetic ophthalmology for the duration of three to six months throughout Europe for
ophthalmology residents and/or ophthalmology fellows with a strong interest in paediatric
and/or genetic ophthalmology.
- Candidates should be younger than 38, at the time of application.
- Each three month exchange fellowship will be sponsored with a maximum of 5.000 (five
thousand) euros, to help with travel and housing expenses.
- Candidates should be, or have trained, in a European residency training program and
should be in possession of a valid passport that enables travelling and working in the
admitting institution/country.
- The candidate needs to be proposed by an Active Member of EPOS
- Application should include a well-defined project (clinical or clinical/research project), a
short CV, the centre/institution of choice, a letter of support from the proponent EPOS
member, a letter of support from the Department head and a letter explaining his/her future
career intentions and how this EPOS fellowship may help to achieve these.
- Applications should be sent to the president of EPOS before July 1, of the current year. Contact information
- The applications and the total amount to be granted will be decided upon by the Board
members and will be announced at the EPOS meeting of the same year. A board member
of EPOS will be nominated mentor of the candidate. A detailed report on his/her activities
will be presented to the president of EPOS and at the EPOS meeting following the
fellowship.
