The development of the human eye is known in detail facilitating the studies of critical time periods for adverse events in the embryo and fetus. The constellation of malformations of multiple organs, including those of the eyes, may give more precise information on timing the insult. Thalidomide embryopathy (TE) - Multiple birth defects, most typical limb anomalies. Ocular malformations consist of sixth nerve palsy, microphthalmus and coloboma.
