European Paediatric Ophthalmological Society
Invitation
Dear Friends, dear Colleagues,
I would like to invite all colleagues and scientists interested in the field of Paediatric and Genetic Ophthalmology to attend the 32nd Conference of EPOS, that will be held from October 5 - 7, 2006 in Vilamoura, Portugal.
The conference will be hosted by Dr. Eduardo Silva, at the Vila Sol Spa & Resort, (venue homepage is www.vilasol.pt). The main topic will be ”Paediatric Neuroophthalmology”. As always, free papers and posters will also be accepted. Please note that strabismus-related papers are outside the scope of EPOS as other international societies cover this field effectively. On invitation of the President of EVER Prof. Tero Kivelä, we have added , in addition, a pre-symposium EPOS@EVER on Thursday afternoon. Details are available on the homepage of EVER http://ever.be
Submission of abstracts and registration for the meeting will start May 2, 2005, and will be possible online only. Further details regarding accommodation, fees etc, are available at our homepage. Special rates are available for EPOS and EVER members. EPOS members may register at EVER at EVER member rates (registration form). All details concerning application for membership etc. are available on the homepage of EPOS.
Deadline for abstract submission is June 29, 2006.
To encourage young scientists to participate, presenters born after May 1974 may apply for a travel grant. This year, EPOS has a total of 3 travel grants (400 EUR each) to distribute.
To promote paediatric and genetic ophthalmology throughout Europe, EPOS plans implemented short-term exchange programs to develop Paediatric Ophthalmology in countries where it is not an official subspecialty. Applications by members including a detailed CV and work plan should be sent to the president (birgit.lorenz@klinik.uni-regensburg.de).
